
Sealed bids will be received at the office of the Solano County Water Agency, 6040 Vaca Station Road, Bldg. 84, Elmira, California 95625 at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 (REVISED!) for the following work:
SOLANO COUNTY WATER AGENCY –
PUTAH DIVERSION COMPOUND RENOVATION PROJECT
AND
CANAL LANE PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
The complete Contract Document package, which include Specifications and Contract Drawings, consists of eleven (11) electronic PDF files from the links at the bottom of this page . Contract Documents will only be available in electronic form and may be accessed with Adobe Acrobat. Any problems or errors in downloading the documents should be reported to the Agency immediately.
The bidder is responsible for notifying Tom Bouffard at TOM@TBARCHITECTS.NET or (707) 469-7739, to be placed on the plan holders list. Plan holders on this list will be notified of the issuance of any addendums. Addendums will be posted at the same internet location as the primary Contract Documents, listed above.
Copies of the prevailing wage scale for this work are available on the internet at http://www.dir.ca.gov/DLSR/PWD.
The Agency will hold a Job Showing at the project location to assist the bidders. Attendance at the job showing is mandatory. Bids received from Contractors who did not attend the Job Showing will not be accepted. The Job Showing will be held at the project site at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 2, 2010.
The bidder shall possess at the time the bid is awarded the following classification(s) of Contractor's California State License: Class A and B.
The bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bidder’s bond for ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid and made payable to Solano County Water Agency. The certified check or bidder’s bond shall be given as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract, if awarded a contract, and will be declared forfeited if the bidder refuses or neglects to enter into said contract within 10 days after being requested to do so.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price and a labor and materials bond in an amount equal to fifty percent (50%) of the contract price, said bonds to be secured from a financially responsible surety company, satisfactory to the Agency, authorized to do business in the State of California.
The Contractor may substitute securities for any moneys withheld to insure performance under the contract in strict accordance with Section 22300 and 10263 of the Public Contracts Code of the State of California.
Each Proposal submitted in response to this invitation shall include the cost of all work, labor and materials to complete the project. It shall, furthermore, include all materials and labor of whatever kind required in regard to providing adequate sheeting, shoring and bracing of excavations.
The bids will be opened in public at the above mentioned prescribed time and date. Award will be made to the lowest responsible bidder, however, the Agency reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities in the bid, and to postpone the date of bid opening. In all respects, the successful bidder shall comply with requirements of law pertaining to public works contracts.
